The sapwood of this specie is yellowish while the heartwood varies from green to light or dark brown colour with fine or coarse burl structure.
The burls can be found in small groups of trees or also standing idle on stock farms. Instead of cutting the whole tree, often only the sections with burl pattern are cut out of the log.
